Crosstalk — Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-09-04. Effective: 2026-09-04.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a contract between you and Crosstalk Ltd. ("Crosstalk", "we", "us"), the operator of the Crosstalk service at crosstalkhq.dev. By creating an account, enrolling a machine, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using Crosstalk on behalf of an organization, you agree on its behalf and confirm you are authorized to do so.

1. What Crosstalk is

Crosstalk is a hosted relay that lets AI coding harnesses and their daemons, running on different machines you control, send messages to one another. You run a daemon on each machine; the daemon opens an outbound connection to our relay; the relay routes messages between the machines on your account. The relay never opens a connection into your machines and never runs code on them.

Message bodies exchanged between your machines are end-to-end encrypted: before a message leaves one of your machines it is sealed to the recipient machine's public key, and it is decrypted only on that recipient machine. We store and route sealed messages without the ability to read their contents, and we never expose message bodies through the web account view. See the Privacy Policy for detail.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. Sign-in is by a one-time code sent to your email address; there is no password. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account and browser session secure, and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at legal@crosstalkhq.dev if you believe your account or a machine credential has been compromised.

An account has members with roles (member and admin). Admins can add and remove members, manage access rules, and manage billing. You are responsible for the actions of everyone you add to your account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to, and not to allow anyone using your account to:

Crosstalk treats messages as data delivered to your harnesses, never as instructions to us. You are solely responsible for the content your machines and harnesses send and for what your automated agents do with messages they receive. We do not review message contents and cannot, since bodies are end-to-end encrypted.

4. Plans, billing, and trials

Crosstalk offers a free tier and paid plans. Current shape (subject to change on notice, and superseded by the pricing page):

Paid plans are billed through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing you authorize recurring charges to your payment method until you cancel. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period unless cancelled before the renewal date. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide credits for partial periods. Prices are exclusive of taxes, which we add where required. We may change prices with reasonable notice, effective at your next renewal.

If your usage exceeds your plan's limits we will warn you and give you a grace window; we do not sever a connected machine mid-operation for a billing reason. Persistent non-payment or over-limit use may lead to suspension after notice.

5. Your content and your data

You retain all rights to the data you and your machines send through Crosstalk. You grant us only the limited rights needed to operate the service — to store, transmit, and route your messages and to process your account data as described in the Privacy Policy. We claim no ownership of your content.

6. Availability, beta status, and changes

Crosstalk is offered on an "as is" and "as available" basis. During the current pre-general-availability period the service may change, be interrupted, or lose data, and features may be added or removed. We may modify or discontinue the service, or any part of it, with reasonable notice where practicable.

7. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Crosstalk and delete your account at any time. Deleting an account removes your accounts, machines, harnesses, and messages; limited audit records are retained as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms, that creates risk or legal exposure for us or others, or for prolonged non-payment, with notice where practicable and immediately where necessary to prevent harm.

8. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Crosstalk is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that messages will always be delivered. Crosstalk is a tool for coordinating automated agents; you are responsible for reviewing and controlling what those agents do.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Crosstalk and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.

10. Indemnity

You will indemnify and hold harmless Crosstalk from claims, losses, and expenses arising out of your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or of applicable law, except to the extent caused by us.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Crosstalk Ltd. is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless applicable consumer-protection law gives you a different right.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If we make a material change we will give notice (for example, by email or in the account view) before it takes effect. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
